me."
I kissed him goodbye and almost changed my mind; he was being so
sweet I felt bad about going just to spite him but I couldn't very well back
out now shit.

    The Lyon

        I bit my
tongue and watched her go out the door counting to a hundred in my head; I know
this is her power play she's trying to prove her independence to me. If I'd
argued with her we would both have walked away scarred. She has no real idea
even after what she'd been through. I've seen some shit and heard of worse and
there's no fucking way I'm leaving her out there like that, fuck that. She
could have her girl’s night out but I'll be fucked if she was going to be
unprotected. I called up Boris and Becky one of the couples that she hadn't met
as yet, they were pretty good at this shit and I knew if I followed her it'll
only make things worse so they will have to do.
The tracker in her car would tell me where she was but it wouldn't
have eyes on her inside the restaurant or the movie theater.
Call me possessive, yeah I give a fuck; I'd rather go overboard
than stand over her torn and abused body any day.

Chapter V ii

    Little Miss. Kat

        After I
told myself to relax the night wasn't so bad; Carol and her friends were a
little different to what I was accustomed to, they were more reserved in some
respects being society types but they were still cool. I told them about
growing up as a skateboarding tomboy in Arizona which they all seemed to find
fascinating and they shared fashion tips and more. Turns out these girls were
no blushing debutantes. Halfway through dinner they were letting it all hang
out; I've never heard such bawdy talk in my life and quite a few of them
thought my man was the hottest thing on two feet. They had me blushing which
was weird considering the things I liked to do and have Colton do to me weren't
for the faint of heart.
"I have to go to the restroom be right back."
"You want me to come with?"Carol offered.
"Nah I'm good." I'd taken off my jacket while sitting so
no one had yet seen my tattooed back but as I stood they all exclaimed over the
art. Carol was the only one to make mention of her brother's reaction to my
state of undress.
    "Colt know you're wearing that?"
"Not entirely and we're not going to tell him." I
answered questions about the tattoo from the girls; I was very proud of it
Stacy had done an amazing job and though most of it wasn't visible, Colton's
name was blatant as well as the black and silver tipped wings.
"Thanks girls." I smiled as I made my way to the
restrooms in back.~
Halfway there I ran into trouble.
"Hello little Kat." I stopped short with my heart racing
out of control. Sitting at the end of the bar nearest to the bathroom was that
James person. I remember Colton saying to stay away from him and his crazy
sister so I didn't even bother to answer; my legs trembled a little as I tried
to hurry pass and I nearly died when he reached out and grabbed my hand.
"Where you going in such a hurry?"
Abject terror engulfed me as my mind raced in different
directions; Colt had taught me what to do in a situation like this but before I
could go into action there was an interruption.
"Hey girl how's it going?" This gorgeous blonde amazon
came out of nowhere and took my other arm before I could answer James leading
me away from him.
"Sorry do I know you?" I'd met quite a few new people
since moving here but somehow she didn't seem familiar. I wasn't sure if I
should be grateful or wary.
"That looked like kind of a sticky situation so I thought I'd
help; I'm here with my old man no worries. I can wait and walk you back if you
want; I know what it's like to deal with jerks like that." I could
certainly see that because she was stunning.
I didn't even want to use the facilities anymore I just
wanted out of there as soon as possible.
"I think I'll just leave thank you if you can just walk me
back to my table."
The lady, Becky she said her
