car.”
I paused, confused. “You want me to…” I trailed off, frowning. “While you’re driving?”
    He nodded.
“Hell no!” I protested. “We could get arrested for that!” The cops would certainly arrest us for indecency. I could just imagine how embarrassing that would be.
“Why are you so uptight anyway? You’re no fun tonight.” He pulled a mock sad-face, pretended to be upset.
Something about his easy demeanor tonight made me want to please him; make him happy. “All right,” I conceded. “But if we get arrested, you’re taking me for a second honeymoon.”
    “Deal.” He winked at me.

The drive to get to the dinner venue was a memorable one. Even with a loosened seatbelt, I wasn’t sure how the heck I had accomplished the task from start to finish. What baffled me more was how Drake had managed to drive without crashing into anything. The guy surely knew how to multi-task even during orgasm. Talented? Yes, he truly was.
Our closeness during dinner was all the proof I needed in order to feel that Drake and I were back on track. He tended to touch me all the time—a brush on my cheek, his hand on my back, massaging it once in awhile, planting kisses on the back of my hand—anything to make me feel connected with him. Even though we were both engaged in different conversations, he was letting me know that he was still thinking of me.
All was well… until we went dancing.
He was persistent in warming his butt on the chair most of the night and refused to dance with me because he didn’t what to embarrass himself, so I took up another dance partner. Since Masie and Nick were dancing the night away, I didn’t decline Jose’s offer when he asked nicely.
Jose was gay, but the less flamboyant kind. He was heavily muscled, dressed to the nines and accented himself with a lot of gold jewelry; he looked like the metro-sexual type. He was the kind of guy that you wouldn’t guess was gay straightaway until you heard him talk.
It was about one in the morning when we all parted ways and Drake hadn’t said a word to me after I took Jose’s invitation to dance.
With no music to mask the silence, I kept rehashing the events that led him to be that way. “Did I do something wrong? I didn’t embarrass you, did I?” I knew I wasn’t the greatest dancer, yet I sort of knew how to dance salsa. Besides, all I had wanted was to be merry anyway.
When he didn’t responded, I reached out to touch his arm that was gripping the wheel, needing him to listen to me. “Drake, tell me what’s wrong.”
“You let a guy touch you, rub his body against you. Do you know how difficult it was to watch you while I couldn’t do anything because I didn’t want to cause a scene?” he said through gritted teeth, as serious as ever.
A bubble of laughter shrieked out of me. “You’re kidding, right?” I looked at him, hoping he was joking. “Jose’s gay . I’m sure you knew that!”
He still wasn’t looking at me. “I don’t give a fuck if he was a fucking priest! He was a guy with a dick.”
Shocked, I stared at him without knowing what to say. “You’re insane! He’s gay! ” I said loudly. “Meaning he’s attracted to men, not women. What the hell, Drake!”
    He shrugged, completely ignoring me.
So I ignored him, hoping he’d grow up once we got home. I couldn’t believe the crap that came out of him. What in the world was going on in his head? I mean, if a lesbian asked him to dance, I wouldn’t even bat an eyelash. It was all in the name of good fun. Come on now. Besides, what kind of man would be jealous of a gay man anyway? I didn’t understand him at all.
The second he parked the car in the garage, I immediately got out, slamming the car door before I gave him a slashing look. “You’re being ridiculous,” I muttered, annoyed at his childishness.
He slammed the door as well, following behind me as I opened the garage door that led towards the hall inside the house. “It’s
