let him know the photo shoot had gone well. He wants me on the next flight back to New York City tonight.”
He was leaving? Panic seized her and she fought off the tears that were threatening to spill.
She did her best to pull herself together, though. She didn't want him to know how much his leaving affected her. She was never going to see him again. “Have a safe trip back,” was all she could say.
She tried to walk away and go into the bathroom so he wouldn't see her cry, but he tightened his grip on her wrist, stopping her from going. “There's more he told her.”
“Can’t we just say goodbye and get it over with?” she pleaded. “I hate, long, drawn out, goodbyes.”
“This isn't a goodbye if you'll just hear me out.”
“It's not? I don't know what you would call it then.”
“I want you both to come with me.”
Jena and Stacy looked at one another, and then both their gazes turned to Blain. “Did I hear you correctly?” Stacy asked.
“Yes.”
“We just can't take off and leave with you. Where would we stay?” Jena demanded.
“With me. I want you and Stacy to both come and live with me, not for a visit, but permanently.”
“We can't do that. We don't have jobs there.”
“If I recall, Jena, you don't have a job waiting for you in L.A., either.”
“True, but Stacy – “
”I want both you women with me. I have never met two women that I have been so strongly attracted to at the same time. I have already spoken to my boss. You both have jobs waiting for you in New York City at Lipstick & Stilettos Magazine.”
Jena looked at Stacy, and at that moment when their eyes met, she knew they were going to New York with Blain.
That is how the three of them ended up in New York City in a polyamorous relationship. It hadn't taken long after they arrived there for Jena to realize she was bisexual. She loved both Blain and Stacy deeply and she always would.
