Once she had it ready, she pulled back on the string all the way to her ear as
he’d done. She took her time aiming before she let go. The arrow hit the ground
at the base of the tree.
    “Damn,” she said.
    “That was a good first try. At least you came close. Try
again.” Wachei gave her another arrow. Eryn’s second attempt was only a tiny
bit better. This time she hit the trunk but close to the ground. “Let’s try
something and see if that will help you.”
