    He thought for a moment. “You know what we
need?”
    “At this moment? Not a darn thing.”

and laughed back. “Well, yeah, but there is one thing I can think

    “Only one?”

now, just this one.” He eased away from her, ignoring her little
whimper, and then walked around the bed. Quickly, and before she
could do more than blink at him, he picked her up in his arms.
“C’mon. Might as well make use of the luxuries, huh?”
    Without a hitch, Mel walked both himself and
his naked burden into the massive hot tub and turned on the
jets.
    Rose groaned out a sigh of pleasure as the
heavenly warm water rippled around her body. The man was not only
hell on wheels in bed, he was a complete genius to think of doing
this afterward.
    If she could figure out a way to nap here
without drowning, her life would be utter bliss. Leaning her head
back, she found Mel’s arm there and realized he was sitting next to
her, just letting her find the right spot for comfort.
    Damn, he was one hellaciously fine lover.
She should’ve done this with him years ago.
    In addition to all his other talents, he
apparently read minds as well. “We shouldn’t have waited so
long.”
    Astounded at how alike their thoughts were,
she shook her head. “Yeah, I was thinking that.” She closed her
eyes again and let her hands drift idly over his skin, loving the
different textures she felt beneath her fingertips. “But maybe it’s
good that we waited. As soon as you touched me I knew for sure it
was what I wanted. I can’t say I’d have been that positive before
now.”
    “It took the idea of having sex with another
man to get you into bed with me?”
    He sounded mildly offended
and Rose peeked at him from beneath her eyelids. “Not at all. It
took that idea to get me naked with you. Getting into bed with you had definitely
crossed my mind already.”
    “It had, huh?” He grinned then sobered. “You
realize I didn’t use anything.”
    “And you know I’m on the pill. You’ve picked
up my prescription more than once.” There was a lack of
embarrassment between them about matters like this that Rose
appreciated. “I know neither of us has dated in several years, so
yes, I know we didn’t use protection. And no, I don’t mind in the
least.”
    “Ah, Rose.” Mel nuzzled into her neck and
nipped gently. “You’re an incredible woman.”
    “I know.” She sighed loudly, making him
laugh.
    “So are you going to fire me?”
    “Uh…” Okay, he’d caught her by surprise on
that one. “Shit. You’re sleeping with the boss, aren’t you? I
hadn’t thought about that until now.”
    “I don’t care, sweetheart. Truly I don’t.
But there are others out there who would make it all sound like a
scandal. You know it and I know it.”

Enterprises and had probably made more than a few enemies in the

    Mel was watching her, playing with a few
