was wearing a loose fitting, silver toga-like gown. She turned around frantically trying to see through the almost impenetrable darkness. Where was she? What was going on?
“Cameryn , my love … my queen,” the voice echoed through the darkness.
“Who are you? What do you want with me?” she called out into the void.
“I’m your destiny, and you are mine.”
She turned around , and that’s when she saw him starting to approach her. He was heart-stoppingly handsome. His hair was sharply cut and black as the abyss that engulfed them. His eyes were the same inky black and matched his immaculately groomed goatee. His stare was bold as his hungry gaze roved over her body. She swallowed nervously. Her breath caught in her throat when he grabbed her and pulled her close. She looked up into his dark eyes, and a shudder of fear raced through her body. Her body went limp in his arms as his lips sought hers kissing her passionately.
Cameryn nearly lost her balance when he abruptly released her.
“Who are you?” she asked again.
“You will know soon enough, beloved,” the strange man said before disappearing.
    “Wait! Come back!” Cameryn yelled.
It was no use. He was gone, and she was once again alone in the darkness.
She woke up gasping for breath. What in the hell? She sat up in her bed looking around. Her heart was beating wildly in her chest. She was twenty-nine years old, and she couldn’t ever remember having a dream so intense.
“It was a dream , Cam. It was just a dream,” she told herself trying to calm down.
She lay back down and looked at the clock. It was a little after midnight. She needed to relax so that she could go back to sleep. She was meeting her mother and her sister in the morning. Cameryn fluffed her pillow and closed her eyes. In minutes she was asleep.

“Morpheus , is that the best you could do?”
“My Lord, your instructions were not specific.”
“I told you I wanted her to dream about me, not for her to be scared half to death,” Hades said.
“A thousand apologies , my Lord. I was not sure if you wished specifically for it to be a romantic dream or not.”
“Why else would I want her to dream about me?”
“Again I apologize. Let me correct this , my Lord.”
“No. You’ve done enough. I will handle this myself. Now leave me,” Hades said dismissing the God of Dreams.
He rose from his throne and paced angrily. Morpheus’s bumbling could very well have just made things a lot harder than they needed to be. He was already certain that things with Cameryn were not going to be easy. This fiasco with Morpheus had only proven that if you wanted something done right you had to do it yourself. It was time for him to go topside.

“Well if it isn’t the Queen of Lateness herself .” Deena snickered as Cameryn joined her and their mother, Kyrie, at the table.
“Everyone can’t be as perfect as you , Deena,” Cameryn said more sharply than she intended.
“Will you two give it a rest?” Kyrie asked smiling.
    “Sorry, Mom,” Deena said apologetically.
“Yeah. We’re sorry , Mom. You’re looking fabulous as always,” Cameryn said smiling at her mother.
“Thank you, sweetie. You’re looking quite beautiful as well, and you’re wearing a dress. This is a special occasion,” Kyrie said squeezing her youngest daughter’s hand.
It was a well-known fact that Cameryn was not a fan of dresses and skirts. She preferred a pair of jeans and a tank top any day of the week.
“I knew I had to dress up since I was meeting you two divas. I can’t be sitting here looking like an old maid,” Cameryn said squeezing her mother’s hand back.
Out of the two of her adoptive parents, Cameryn had always been closer to Kyrie. Even though Dean doted on her, most of her time had been spent with Kyrie. As a little girl she’d been fascinated by her mother. She looked so much like the glamorous Hollywood icons of yester-years like Sophia Loren and Marilyn Monroe.
