gear should not have been erotic but in her mind
he might as well have stripped bare. Her tight nipples brushed
against the fabric of her jacket, reminding her that she’d
foregone a bra after her shower because it irritated her. Too bad the
jacket and pants had the same effect. She had half a mind to strip
naked before she dug into her dinner.
    “ Here
you go.” Trent brought her out of her erotic stupor when he
placed a steaming bowl of fragrant chili in front of her.
    Daisy
swallowed thickly and willed her body to give her a break. She’d
made it this far, a little bit longer couldn’t be that bad.
Seth took the seat to her left and Trent joined them across the table
from her. She was practically surrounded by hot, virile men. God give
her strength.
    She
picked up her spoon and dug into the meal, blowing on the fragrant
scoop before she stuck it in her mouth. An unexpected flavor exploded
across her senses. Daisy moaned. She’d expected spicy but this
was so much more. Along with the heat there was an indescribable tang
and a hint of sweet.
    “ I
think she likes it, bro,” Trent managed around a mouthful.
    “ Of
course she does.”
    “ It’s
incredible. And so different.” Daisy scooped some more. “What’s
your secret?”
    Trent
grinned. “Everyone seems to think it’s the beer but I
actually think it’s the combination of the beer and the
cinnamon or maybe the chocolate.”
    “ Huh.
I’d have never thought of that. But it really is fantastic.”
    “ Thank
you, little cat.” He winked.
    She
paused, her spoon midway to her mouth and narrowed her gaze. A low
growl emerged from her throat.
    “ Whoa.
Did I miss something while I was gone, kids?” Seth interrupted.
    “ Maybe
a little.” Another sly grin from Trent. “I especially
enjoyed the part where she threatened me for calling her little cat.”
    Seth
shook his head. “Why do I get the sense you are playing with
fire. Do you never learn?”
    “ Hell
no. Not when I’m having this much fun.”
    Daisy
decided to ignore their banter this time. Let them play their games
and they’d see who won in the long run. Her heat may get the
best of her at times but eventually she’d overcome it. A quiet
silence descended on them after that as they all sat together
enjoying the meal.
    Seth
was the first one to finish and he sat back and rubbed his tummy.
Again, her thoughts went rampant. She’d really enjoyed it when
it was her rubbing against his hard body. She clamped her legs
together and concentrated on finishing her meal. She had to stop
going there.
    “ Why
haven’t you taken advantage of the heat?” Daisy’s
head shot up in surprise at the words that had come out of her mouth.
Horrified she’d said them aloud she desperately wanted to take
them back.
    Seth
sat up straight and Trent pushed his bowl away.
    “ I
don’t even know how to take that.” Trent scrubbed his
face and pushed his fingers through her hair.
    “ Why
would you ask that?” Seth questioned.
    Daisy
shrugged. “I don’t know.”
    “ Yeah
right.” Seth pushed from the table and stood. “Is that
what you expect from a shifter?”
    Again
she shrugged, to afraid to agree.
    “ Dammit,
Daisy. We’re human too. Our bodies may be clamoring to take
what we want but it doesn’t mean our brains have to shut down.
What the hell kind of men do you hang out with to think this shit?”
Seth paced across the kitchen, turned and stormed back. “As
much as I’m dying to fuck you, I don’t take women against
their will.”
    “ Eventually
the heat always wins,” she whispered.
    Seth
hauled her to her feet. “You might smell damned delicious and
your pain might be killing me but that doesn’t take our choice
away. My dick’s not going in that wet pussy or tight ass until
you ask me for it.”
    The
room tilted at his words. Images raced across her brain of her body
so full of cock she thought she might die. A strong wave of arousal
clamored through her. There wasn’t a doubt in her
