by my side as soon as she saw what was going on,
tries to slap his hand away. She gets a slap to the face. I start hitting him
all crazy-like, and he tries to slap me, but his hand is held back by someone
behind him. Alex. My knight in shining armor. He looks back and sees that Alex
is smaller than him so he makes a fist and raises it to punch him, but then he
notices all the bouncers standing behind Alex. Alex tells him to fuck off, and
the guy gets escorted out of the club, shirtless and smelling of puke. Alex
takes me and Stacy up into VIP, and we got to know each other better as I
sobered up. He said he’d forgive me for puking on his dance floor if I gave him
my number. So I did. The End.”
Kim
was laughing hysterically by the end of the story, clutching her stomach as she
tried to get control herself. Diana was smiling pleasantly.
“You
forgot the part where you forgot everything that happened, and he had to remind
you.” Kim said between laughs, amused at Diana’s expense.
“And
that’s the last time I’m telling that story, so you had better laugh your heart
out, and get it over with.” Diana responded, grabbing her sandwich as the
munchies kicked in. “But it’s not THAT funny, so chill out or you’re going to
be the first person in history to die from laughing too hard,” she added
between mouthfuls.
Kim
got hold of herself by taking several deep breaths, still smiling as she
imagined the whole thing taking place. “Wish I’d come out with you that night.”
She said finally, taking a sip of her juice. “That would definitely have been
worth all the noise and congestion.”
Diana
slapped her knee playfully, telling her off, “And you’re hippie bonfires in the
forest are soooo perfect right?”
“Peace
and Love,” Kim replied, gulping down the last of her juice. She brought the bag
of weed out as if to prove her point, pushing her empty plate away to make
space to roll another joint.
“You’re
not really thinking of smoking another one now, are you?” Diana asked, still
high from the previous joint.
“You
have a better idea?” Kim responded, her fingers still busy with the rolling
paper.
“I
spotted some wine at the back of the fridge if you want to have a drink,” Diana
countered. “I seem to remember something you said about wine once...” She let
the statement hang in the air, and Kim smiled, consenting with a nod of her
head as she tucked the finished blunt into her pocket.
They
threw the dirty dishes into the sink and brought the wine out, pouring
themselves generous portions. Carrying it back to the sitting room area, half
the bottle was gone in no time as they traded stories.
“You
don’t think he’ll mind us opening the bottle without him, do you?” Kim asked as
an afterthought.
“He
shouldn’t have left it in the open if he didn’t expect it to be drunk.” Diana
replied convincingly, nodding to herself as she weighed her words. “And this is
the cheap stuff anyway,” she continued, “He owns a fucking club! He’s bound to
have loads of liquor hidden somewhere in this house.”
“You
want to go look for it?” Kim asked, draining the last of the bottle into her
glass. Diana answered by standing up, a little off balanced; the highs mixing
in a nice buzz. She picked up her glass and headed off down the hallway, not
bothering to see if Kim was following.
They
found what they assumed to be the master bedroom locked, the four other rooms
having nothing particularly special in them. They found themselves in one of
these, empty wine glasses forgotten, petting and fondling each other with
passion until Diana said she had to go pee.
“Quick.
I need to knock wine off my list!” Kim yelled as Diana disappeared past the
door. She picked up the wine glasses as she headed off to the kitchen,
determined to search for props in the fridge. Her search was interrupted by the
sound of someone fiddling with the keyhole, opening the door.
