    Charlie was awake when D amon brought in her breakfast. It wasn’t clear liquids anymore, b ut a bowl of oatmeal and toast. There was a large glass of juice and some fresh fruit, strawberries too. She looked up at him in surprise.
    “I didn’t cook this. My sister-in-law Ronnie came by and wanted to borrow the truck so while I cleaned out the firewood and swept it out for her, she ma de breakfast for us. Connor is on his second bowl. I wonder where he puts it all.”
