angled her head for a kiss, delving his tongue into her mouth even as he tunneled into her. Increasing the tempo, each thrust became harder and faster, going ever deeper until it was impossible to tell where one body ended and the other began.
He knew as sure as he knew the sun rose everyday that every sound she made; the burn of her fingernails as she scored his skin, and the hot, pulse of her body around him as she came the first time, would be forever burned into his memory.
Breaking t he kiss, Libby gasped his name. “Gavin—Oh, my God!”
Normally , he would have replied with wit, some smart ass comment to keep the mood light and fun. But he wasn’t capable of it just now. In that moment, he could do nothing but chase his release, driven by a need unlike anything he’d ever felt. Each driving thrust brought him closer.
The familiar tension locked his muscles , his jaw clenched, and then an extreme pleasure washed through him as he pressed deep inside her, spilling himself into her softness.
In the aftermath, the room was filled only with the so und of their ragged breathing. Neither spoke, for the longest time. Disentangling himself from their jumbled pile of sated limbs, Gavin rolled to his side, and pulled her against him, pressing her back to his chest, and stroking his hands over her lush curves in a soothing manner. “Stay with me,” he murmured against her ear.
“I’ll stay the night— I was hoping you’d ask,” she answered breathlessly.
He smiled at her, enjoying the sweetness of her face, the seductive curve of her lips. “I don’t mean tonight, Libby. I’ve been looking for you for so long—Just stay.”
    “ Until when, Gavin?”
“Until we figure out what both want...and until I know that it’s safe for me to let you go. Your face will be all over the tabloids, Libby. The news of us will be everywhere. Whoever is trying to kill me may very well try to use you to get to me—I don’t know what I’d do.”
Libby let out a small sigh.
He knew what she was probably thinking; it was insane to even consider it. They barely knew one another, yet every time they were within feet of one another it became incendiary. Still, he hoped that she regretted not taking the risk in the past.
“I’ll stay— but only until we figure out who wants you dead...Then—”
“Then we’ll see,” Gavin promised. “We’ll see.”
