    Megan’s defeated expression makes me think she wants to spill her guts to Troy. I slowly shake my head at her. She can’t tell Troy about her father being the Cleaner . That puts everyone in danger.
    “Our house was broken into the other night,” she starts and sits on the couch. I watch her. “It was really frightening.”
    “Who broke into your house?!” Troy asks,shocked.
    “Oh, just some crazy guy,” she says, leaving out the fact that the ‘crazy guy’ was ‘guys’ and they wanted to kill her family.
    Troy looks at me and says, “This is because of you, isn’t it!”
    “Me? Why are you blaming me?” I spew at him. Vito moves to go after Troy, and I put my hand out to stop him.
    “Troy, it isn’t because of Antonio. It happened, it’s over. My dad wanted us to come here for a while to get away.”
    “Well, you didn’t need to bring an entourage with you.” Then, says softly to Megan, “I thought it was just going to be us.”
    That did it. If he speaks intimately one more time to her; I am going to slowly break each finger on his hands than all of his toes.
    “How’s Erin?” Troy asks.
    “Between the break-in and Connor cheating on her, not good.” Megan sighs. “We’ll just have to see.”
    “If there is anything I can do, let me know.” Troy says placing his hand on her knee.
    I roughly grip Troy’s shoulders from behind and yank him back against the couch, looking down at him. “Don’t. Fuckin’.Touch. Her.” I release his shoulders and shove him forward.
    Megan doesn’t say anything, but she gives me a dirty look. I’ll be hearing it later about roughing up her friend.
    “Thanks for the warning,” Troy keeps his sarcastic tone. “There is a party tonight on campus. Why don’t you guys come and relax? he offers.
    No one says anything right away. Erin is now standing in the doorway of her room.
    Megan sees Erin and answers Troy. “That sounds great.”

    Antonio is ready to rip Troy apart. I hadn’t given much thought to what it would be like for all of us to come to see Troy. I guess all that has happened and all the secrets I’ve learned will do that to you.
    Going to a party on campus is probably just what we all need. It will take our minds off kidnappings, beatings, and the horrors we left behind in New Jersey.
    “It’s at Dillon Hall, eight o’clock,” Troy says, getting up.
    Erin’s doorway is now empty. She must have gone back in her room. Antonio is standing by the door to the suite, graciously waiting for Troy— NOT! Vito is poised like a bodyguard by the kitchen table. The tension in the room is palpable.
    I stand too and walk with Troy to the door. Antonio opens it and scans the hallway before standing out of the way for Troy to leave.
    “Thanks Troy,” I say. “See you tonight.”
    Troy’s face is sad when he says goodbye. He looks at Antonio and walks away.
    Antonio shuts the door and bolts it. Our eyes lock, and Antonio’s are possessive and needy. My breath hitches and expectation radiates through me. His hands find my hair and, in a flash, I am crushed against him. My back hits a wall and Antonio is smothering me...kissing me. My pulse races and my stomach clenches in a delicious way I’m not used to. Holy Shit!
    I barely register Vito clearing his throat . Antonio picks me up so that I am straddling him and carries me through the adjoining door to our suites. He kicks it shut with his foot. We cross their living room to his bedroom, and he flops me down on the bed. He strips his t-shirt off and lies on top of me,kissing me roughly and passionately. This has never happened to me before.
