overprotective asshat. That makes me an asshole, sorry.”
He finally turns to look at me and I become self-conscious about what I look like. His icy-blue eyes sparkle as they burn into me but it isn’t with the disgust that I expect because of how I look. It’s something else entirely and it’s nothing I’m used to seeing. It’s something I don’t let myself see because of the uncertain life that I’ve always led.
“Do you see me complaining about you kissin’ me? Do you hear me bitchin’ about you tellin’ me I have a rock-hard body? Or hatin’ the way you laid across my lap and made everything that came out of your mouth dirty as you ordered? Because I’m not.” The corner of his mouth tips up as I have to fight to keep my jaw off the floor. He reaches toward me and moves the hair off my face. Usually I would pull away from someone trying to touch me like that, but something about him makes me want to move into it. Thankfully, I manage to control myself. “Would you like to talk some more about how pissed off you are that you can’t find that supersized McDick you want so much?”
I feel my entire body blush and I know there’s no hiding it from him. So instead of trying to hide and change the subject, I go with it. Shrugging my good shoulder, I turn back to the food in front of me. Grabbing a slice of bacon, I slide it into my mouth and moan. “Nope. Your meat tastes better than I imagine a McDick ever would.”
Gentry chokes on whatever he was chewing but he laughs as soon as he catches his breath. Out of the corner of my eye I watch him reach down and adjust himself. I mentally pat myself on the back because I now know that even when I look like I’ve taken a walk of shame with the best of them, I can still give a hot guy a hard on.
“Good to know you like my meat in your mouth.”
“I love the fact that it’s extra thick. Gives me more to fill my mouth with at once. And these pancakes,” I exclaim, trying harder than hell to keep myself from laughing. “God these pancakes are so moist.”
He snorts, dropping his fork to his plate. “I was hopin’ that your sense of humor wasn’t just the alcohol talkin’.”
“Nope. This is me. I live strictly on a take it or leave it rule.”
“I’ll take anything you wanna give me,” he mutters. I don’t think he meant for me to hear it, but I do and for the first time in as long as I can remember that thought doesn’t scare me. I don’t think I’m ready for it, but it doesn’t terrify me.
“Why did you stick around last night? It wasn’t for sex because your hand would have been better,” I throw his words back at him with a smile.  “And I doubt it was so you could see me look like shit while I ate food you didn’t have to buy or cook for me. So why?”
His chest rises and falls as he slowly breathes. Turning in his chair, he focuses solely on me, forgetting about the food he told me I needed to eat. Shrugging, he lets his eyes roam over me, heating my body as he stares.
“You did things last night that normally infuriate me when other women do them. You drank my shots and kept me from gettin’ drunk. You yelled at me. You changed the station on the radio in my truck. You used me to aggravate one of my friends because he was bein’ a dick.” Sliding off his stool, he invades my space but I don’t lean back like I should. I sit still, challenging him to get closer. Part of me wants him to and I don’t know why. It’s more than physical but I barely know him. “You made my cock so hard I could pound nails on more than one occasion last night and then didn’t take care of it. All those things would usually have me walkin’ away without a second thought. But with you… fuck, it just made me want you more.”
“You don’t even know me, Gentry. It’s just because you wanna fuck me.” I make the excuse because it’s what I need to hear, even it for some reason it isn’t what I want to hear.
    “I know enough,”
