said. “Oh, and the driver waiting in the car.”
“So you live alone,” I stated, although I had intended to form it more as a question.
“My housekeeper comes here every other weekday, but yeah, I live alone,” he looked around the kitchen, appreciating what he had.
That answered my question about his personal life.
So I guess no wife and kids. Thank god for that.
“Paulo cooks the best salmon I’ve ever tasted so that’s what we’re having today,” he explained as we sat down at the table.
“Sounds great!” I replied, suddenly feeling hungry.
And not just for food. The moment we shared in his bedroom was still playing in my mind.
The fish really was delicious. And with the right wine, it tasted divine.
The sun was setting, and I could see deep orange and red colors through the kitchen window as we continued with our meal.
“Let’s take the wine upstairs, the sunset view is really worth the climb, I promise,” Nathan said.
I had no objections to going back to his bedroom.
And not just for the view.
I followed him up the stairs, eager to continue where we had left off. I wasn’t usually this bold. It had to have been the wine loosening my inhibitions.
    I wonder what’s for dessert…

T he sun had set and the city of Denver was in full lights. I had held my breath throughout the sunset because it was out of this world. No wonder Nathan was so cool and calm in social situations and successfully running his business if he got the chance to go to sleep every evening seeing that kind of beauty.
We were in his room, sitting on the couch, sipping wine.
“So what do you say to my offer,” he asked, dragging me back to the topic of work.
The job he was offering was more than great and I wouldn’t have hesitated at all in my answer if it weren’t for the fact that I was so attracted to him. That might make things awkward in the workplace, to say the least. Still, the opportunity was too good to let it pass by.
“After careful consideration, I would have to say…” I stretched out my answer to see his reaction.
He frowned slightly and I smiled at him.
“Yes, I would love to work for you,” I said finally.
He sighed with relief. He really did want me to work for him, and seeing him like that made me even happier about my decision.
“Thank you,” Nathan said with a big smile on his face. “And now I’m going to break my first rule of business.”
He took the glass of wine out of my hand and placed it on a nearby table. He turned to face me and lifted his hand to my cheek before running a thumb across my bottom lip while licking his.
“I’ve wanted to bite that lip since I first saw you,” he said quietly.
“So what’s stopping you,” I said, blushing at my own brazenness.
He moved closer and slipped his hand behind my neck. Nathan pulled me gently towards him and I had to lean in. We were almost nose-to-nose, staring in each other’s eyes.
I saw that golden sheen in his gaze again. His pupils dilated and he kissed me, gently at first, and the more I responded to his kiss, the deeper and more passionate it got. He tugged on my lower lip with his teeth and I moaned softly into his mouth.
There was some distance between us so I shuffled a bit closer to him. One of his hands was on my neck, his thumb gently stroking behind my ear. The feeling was exquisite. He snaked his other arm around my back and pulled me onto his lap with one swift move.
I knew I wasn’t on the slim side, but he had barely used any strength to lift me, not even breaking our kiss. It was dim in the room with only one small light in the corner. In any other case, I would have been a bit self-conscious about my body, but this hot as hell man wanted me as much as I wanted him and that was all the confirmation I needed.
I pulled away and started kissing his neck. He smelled divine, even after a long day’s work. My head was spinning, either from the wine or the adrenaline pumping through me.
